Will it be cold? Will we have wintry mischief?

we will have to watch for any potential affects from the SSWE that just occured a few days ago, around mid february ( 12th and beyond, Im thinking we start off the first couple of days in february on the mild side, but then transition towards a much colder regime after the first week

From Larry Cosgrove in response to my question about winter weather returning to SETX:
Yes, I think sometime in February we will get another winter event, and the month may actually turn out to be cold and stormy.

I think so to, im seeing signs of another -NAO signature beginning to take shape on the ensembles in the 11-15 day period, starting to see that ridging over the US retrograding into canada

Larry is very good at forecasting. I’m leaving my winter preps in place.

Looks like the operational models are showing the ridge retrograding into north canada, new ridge building over alaska, higher heights building over greenland, and a active STJ, February looks like a fun month, ensembles/ weeklies keep a -NAO/- AO pattern established for the entire month

The CPC has already placed parts of southeast TX in another moderate risk for excessive rainfall from the February 3rd-5th timeframe.

It’s possible there will be a bigger risk for flooding next time around because the grounds are already saturated.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2024 4:57 pm Cpv17 yeah, big oof, hopefully nothing too crazy comes out of that

So, after that brief arctic outbreak during the middle of last month we get a month or nearly that length of time of Springlike weather? Am I gathering, understanding, or perceiving that correctly or right? If that is the case then personally, I would not mind if most if not all of March turns out to be Winter like and early Spring turns out to be a little below average. I say all of this now, but, that is how I feel about it.
