Hard to get excited about Winter just yet AZ with no cold fronts on the horizon. Unfortunately La Nina years often delay our transition to Fall. With that I said, we will be on the look out for that first 'strong' push of colder air and lower dewpoints!

This might give you hope:

With the rather strong mid-level trough/ low across Oklahoma digging a bit more south before becoming cut-off would likely give us our first real front as well as keep any tropical system to our east. GFS 2-meter temps show 50 degree temps all the way to the coast with some upper 40's north of I-10 on Wednesday morning (9/29). It should be interesting to see how many times it flip/flops over the next few days.

Well the 12z is not the first depiction of this. The 12z yesterday showed the same, a 1032 mb high dropping down with heights collapsing behind the front. 2-m temps showed readings in the 40s yesterday, too. It is getting to be about that time when we can expect our first true cold front. Even if this one does not come to fruition, you can definitely tell we are on the cusp of transition into the autumn. Anybody else notice the foggy mornings?
It is encouraging to see David Paul pointing out the cold air amassing in the NW Territories of Canada and in Alaska. No sure sign of a serious cold front yet, but the patterns do appear to be setting up for a change. I'm sure ready for fall.
