How about a pot of gumbo to get things going? I am hoping to see at least an inch and a good shot of it too. It isnt 7 + like previously modeled, but it is what it is here in Spring. It could be all cold rain like last time.

I'm making trail turkey chili. tomato, beans, onions, peppers all allowed. Layers of chiles: ancho, chipotle, pasila, guajilo + some chocolate, coffee. A touch of lime. BAM.Brazoriatx979 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 9:23 am who's making soup or chili for dinner on this cold evening?

Dark roux. Filé, no okra as the thickener.TexasBreeze wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 9:30 am How about a pot of gumbo to get things going? I am hoping to see at least an inch and a good shot of it too. Good morning everyone! Here's to hoping we all cash in tonight/tomorrow! I made chili last night to get me through the week, so bring on whatever may come. Think some of us may wake up tomorrow surprised.. one way or another.

So far, the latest HRRR12z keeps with the suppressed theme. It won't surprise me if the UKMET option is right all along.
But yes, definitely will need to watch any changes throughout the day.

I woke up to blue bird skies and now it is solid gray overcast. Fingers crossed all of us cash in on some snow and this system over performs for a large chunk of the area. It is VERY hard to forecast snow down here and even more so, how much. One heavy 30 minute band can drop 2 inches quick!
I'm seeing light snow, sleet, and freezing rain returns already just west of Kingsville?

Sending good vibes and wishes that everyone sees a good blanket of snow down there! My family is in SE Texas and Cajun country Louisiana and they are excited.
