I don't understand why we are at risk of flash drought now when its been hot and dry since May. Why wouldn't we have a flash drought in July?

We now live in a desert with occasional flash floods.

Wow, to add another insult, the ultimate Lucy visit today. Red blob to north, spits out outflow, new red blob to the south. Ugh.

Faucet turned off here in July after the central Texas floods. Its been hot AF amd dry for 3 months and suddenly local mets are talking about a flash drought. We've been in a drought already so I dont know what makes it a "flash" version.

Got a surprise downpour for a few minutes at the fields at ORWALL. All of my son's coaches were practically dancing in the rain lol.

Howdy neighbor! I think ORWALL is a mandatory tour of duty of you have sons in the area.

I’m in Imperial Oaks and felt mist on my face in the breeze. Just missed it.

These flash droughts are becoming quite the norm around here.

Since the EPAC Barry moisture triggered flooding it's been high and dry. Our water bill is sky high even though enormous summer electric bill is sagging a little because of lower sun angle.

Our last measurable rain was September 1.

At least we have a nice NE wind tonight NE 14. DP is dropping. If it's not going to rain...
