Sambucol not 100% yet just how cold, but with a SSWE unerway( which could extend the cold pattern well into january) a record weak PV for november standards, that looks to stay weak through the entirety of december, its going to be a cold month + lol, maybe even a fun one if we can get the STJ to get going

Looking forward to this and hope it happens. Was 1983 one of the years that is being compared to this?

1983 was really cold in the CWA. Bay froze out 15 feet, I think. 1989 was really cold as well.

CEO rearranged the organization last week to where I started reporting to his 2nd in command instead of him. Then suddenly this guy brings me the letter so the CEO doesnt have to deal with me. No advance notice. Just pack my stuff and get out. I can read the severance letter at home.

I will never work for a startup again in my life after this. I just hope I can find gainful employment again without having to relocate again so soon. Its only been like 15 months.
So sorry to hear that. Our son just completed his PhD in engineering and ls looking for a job in industry, start-ups, or academia. Crazy times.
Its a very humbling experience. PhD and nearly 20 years of experience and can still be tossed aside without even batting an eye. People really need to treat other people better.

Strapped in and ready for launch.

The DP here is 72°F now. It's horrible outside.

That sux. There's a trickle down effect. Tariffs and the lack of an FY26 budget appropriations in the sciences (NSF, NIH, etc) are a crusher. Did the start-up use SBIR funding (Fed business grants)?

It's 5:32 pm, getting dark with a heat index of 90°F. That is very, very wrong for the latter half of November.

The 18z's suck. Euro-AIFS and GFS caved and took the cold away.

GEPS still looks good.

Global models in this range are going to struggle mightly, 18z GEFS looks way different than the OP run, i’ll probably take the global runs seriously once we are within 5 days

Nope. Leftover funds from split with NASA finally running dry. Burning a little over a million a month and piggy bank will be empty by mid 2026.

CEO has an ego the size of Texas and has no idea how industry really does business. At least once a week I've seen him call an industry expert a moron (or worse) because they didnt agree with him.

Has no product ready for actual launch, but everybody else's products suck for one reason or another, etc...

Yes, he does. Every single year. Even a broken clock gets lucky once in a while though.

Sounds like it was a blessing in disguise then. I hope you find something soon and wishing you good luck.

The bay froze in December 1983 and 1989. The bay had frozen in February 1899.

To get a good perspective about how these things work. Go take a look at November 2024. Read carefully. I think we all live in our own matrix.. LOL
