For some further north and west in the state. No fun for Houston on that run.
Our daughter lives in Grapevine. We might have to make a trip to visit her lol

The ridging on the 12z GFS is absolutely nuts.

I wouldn’t worry about the storm track this far out, but the blocking pattern and cold is definitely coming, thats not an IF at this point

I wouldn’t say anything is locked in yet, but I’m more on the conservative side when it comes to that. Been burned too many times. I would definitely say confidence is increasing though. As far as storm track, I wouldn’t pay much attention to that till we get inside of 3-4 days.

It’s going to get cold, and that’s all I really care about. Winter precip down here is just icing on the proverbial cake. That, and snow in Montana and the Rockies.

Anytime it can stay below 50 for an extended period along and south of 10, it’s a good period.

The first storm to track looks to be around the 8th. There could be heavy rain and severe weather with that system. This storm system should usher in the pattern change.

Channel 13 forecasting multiple days in the 80s next week, including 81 degrees here for Jan. 9, which probably means 83-84 degrees in the city. This is getting to be beyond ridiculous.

Things will change. Hang in there. Thankfully, the 70’s and 80’s for me are very comfortable. I don’t like the cold at all, it hurts me lol but at the same time I get very excited when a major Artic blast comes through and I’ll almost always root for that to happen. Sign me up for temps in the teens and twenties, especially if there’s a winter storm coming with it.

Our dog and I love it. Cold acclimation doesn't take that long for me. I was a kid outside Chicago and then in NC. So...Bring it on the Arctic blast, especially with wintry mischief. Plus, I was very tired of the electrical and water bills that come with summer (and now Fall) in the Brazos Valley.

Boring tropical season...so, we're due for some action.
