This weather is great. Really, my only complaint is the lack of rain. I got nothing but a 5 min light shower with that front the other night, while some places N of me got 1-3”.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 10:53 am forecasted high of 77 here, i cant express my disgust enough, absolutely putrid

You’re nuts lol today was the best day we’ve had in weeks! If it’s not gonna be extremely cold or snow or sleet, then I’ll take days like today every day.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 6:05 pm Cpv17 yeah i got a quick heavy shower last night, but that was it, as for the temperatures, well youll never find me outside when its over 60 lol

Cpv17 i get it lol, I just hate the warmth because of where i lived before moving back to texas, which was dubai, the “ coldest” temps in the winter were in the upper 70’s to low 80’s, summer was mid 100’s with lows in the upper 80’s to low 90’s, did all that for 2 years, and you can probably see why im not thrilled about warm weather lol

It was dry with low DPs in the 30s. That's fine. It's when the DPs soar to 60°F+. I've given up on regular rain in CLL; we're now a desert with an occasional flood. IIWII. But give me that lower humidity.Cpv17 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 6:16 pmYou’re nuts lol today was the best day we’ve had in weeks! DP was low today and tomorrow.
Too close to 60°F DP after that. Potential FROPA next Saturday.
After that it looks like a battle between a SE ridge and big west trough, which needs to push a little harder.

After the 17th, there are a couple of ULL, but they appear to slide NE and miss SETX. We've seen too many Springs over the last decade like that.
Might as well call the Brazos Valley a humid subtropical desert...with occasional floods.

Last couple of february’s have been garbage down here in terms of cold/ winter precipitation, la nina cant go soon enough, not looking forward to the continued stretch of this horrible warmth, hopefully el nino can really keep summer from being absolutely miserable

El Niños have been terrible lately. Don’t get your hopes up.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 09, 2026 6:13 pm Last couple of february’s have been garbage down here in terms of cold/ winter precipitation, la nina cant go soon enough, not looking forward to the continued stretch of this horrible warmth, hopefully el nino can really keep summer from being absolutely miserable

El Niño summers are mixed bag. They can be hot and/or dry or wet and/or mild summer. It also depends when El Niño starts to appear and the type. Stronger El Niño tend to be hotter and/or drier summer. Think 1997, 2009, 2015, and 2023. Summer 1997 was dry, but not really hot. Weaker El Niño tend to have wetter and/or milder summer. Think 1976, 1991, 1992, and 2006.Cpv17 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 09, 2026 6:45 pmEl Niños have been terrible lately. When El Niño is developing in the spring, it tends to be wetter. 1957, 1982, 1997, 2009, and 2015 come to mind.
Other factors come to play besides El Niño. Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO), Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation (AMO), Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD), Madden-Julian oscillation (MJO), and Tropical Warm Pool (TWP) are factors.

The Euro and GEM are more confident of rain amounts on Saturday than GFS.

72°F and cloudy. Actually, once it gets above 70°F, I'm good with cloudy weather and periods of rain until late October. DP of 60°F or below only.
Is that too much to ask?
