It appears that the desert has shifted east - to Houston.

Gees, it is much drier in Houston than in Sahara Desert and that place is very dry. The Southwest is wet because it is monsoon season. Every night, I see large areas of thunderstorms over northwestern Mexico at this time.wxman57 wrote:It appears that the desert has shifted east - to Houston.

TS Arlene and the monsoonal trough, AZ.AZ_ARIZONA_DESERT wrote:OK,, I FIGURED OUT THAT THE RISE IN DEWPOINTS IN ARIZONA AND NEVADA IS DUE TO A MONSOON?? BUT I DONT GET IT. THE PREVIOUS WEEK, ARIZONA AND NEVADA HAD DEWPOINTS IN THE DRY TEENS AND 20S F . THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT DRY CLEAR AIR JUST DISAPPEARS???
WHAT IS THE ACTUAL MECHANISM,,THAT IS PUSHING THE HUMID AIR INTO THE DESERTS? IS IT A LOW ALTITUDE WIND SHIFT? THE MOISTURE HAS TO BE COMING FROM SOMEWHERE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!
