I hope you all had a great Christmas. And, I hope it will be followed by an even better New Year! I was playing around researching some New Year's Day superstitions/traditions, and ran across this about the weather:
At Sunrise on New Years morning, observe the weather:
Winds from the South: Fine weather and prosperous times in the New Year.
Winds from the North: A Year of bad weather.
Winds from the East: Brings famine and calamity.
Winds from the West: The year will be plentiful of milk and fish; but, will see the death of a very
important person.
Calm Winds: A joyful and prosperous New Year for all
So I guess one benefit of the foggy, calm mornings would be a "Joyful and Prosperous New Year for all"... Happy New Year!
Well, the winds this morning are from the North @ 8, with gusts to 16...supposedly meaning "Bad weather for the year"...Hopefully, not! The drought this past summer was bad enough. I'm really hoping for a reprieve, this year.
I slept in this morning but didn't get to post - when I woke up it was a strong north wind. So I guess it is a year of bad weather - let's hope it is the type that does not involve a drought.
