Last two recon fixes has it barely moving. I'm guessing the next update will remain w @ 3 mph.

The slower movement may signal a change in movement coming soon or is it just the steering currents have collapsed overall currently?

I don’t think it’s ready to turn yet. Really not supposed to make that north turn until tomorrow night.TexasBreeze wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 9:45 pm The slower movement may signal a change in movement coming soon or is it just the steering currents have collapsed overall currently?

There have been multiple eddies that are rotating around the larger broad low. That is why you probably see periods of SW movement. Until dry air and shear lessen I don't see much improvement in the structure.

"Eddies" may not be the best term, but overall you are just seeing smaller circulations in the broader overall low. Think of it as a circulation within a circulation really.

If the UKMET doesn't make a huge jump east tonight I will be speechless. It will be incredible to have this much discrepancy between models this far out.
