Wow, Powerful Storm. So at this point we are radar watching looking for wobbles and praying no unexpected surprises.

Looks like my call was too far down the coast but this is one of those cases, for our sake, when I am glad to be wrong.
Man I really feel for those in LA. This is going to be bad - probably a good deal worse for Lake Charles than Rita if you can even imagine that.

Hurricane force winds could extend out to Harris and Montgomery Counties. That’s how much she’s grown.

Surfside to San Luis. Thought the GFS was undergoing the ridge and I was expecting one last model push west and it didn’t happen.AtascocitaWX wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 8:41 amwhere was your call ?jasons2k wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 8:40 am Looks like my call was too far down the coast but this is one of those cases, for our sake, when I am glad to be wrong.

If Jason's call busts, so does mine..mine was the West End of Galveston Island...Wxman 57, I think, was High Island...jasons2k wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 8:49 amSurfside to San Luis. Morning sounding from Lake Charles, LA shows southwest flow above 400mb that will start shearing #Laura near the time of landfall. This could halt intensification or cause slight weakening just before landfall. Unfortunately, it will be too late to prevent a Cat 3-4 strike. pic.twitter.com/3lgJ9YSe5M

Careful with information being posted on social media. Always know the source and research reliability and accuracy of the original poster. That said it looks like something generated a day or two ago...

What a monster. Hope everyone in the path of Laura has listened to evacuation notices if they are in those areas.
