IF this tropical blob goes into northern Mexico, will we still get beneficial rains here in setx? Worried we may be on the outer rim of the rains.

The latest GFS suggests you folks in Beaumont and Lake Charles likely will not escape some heavy tropical downpours. Also time to remind folks of quick spin up tropical funnels as moisture levels continue to increase throughout the weekend.

One last item of business before this weekend's festivities...this is in reference to what Jeff, Srain and Wxman 57 were speaking of..we have been dry, so it will take a little while for the ground to catch up to saturation points...

Not so sure about that. Trough is sharper than yesterday at this time and a potent little upper low near Corpus Christi and inland looks to bring some heavy rainfall with some breezy conditions.

The ECMWF keeps thing going into early Wednesday. A surface low attempts to organize Sunday just offshore of the Corpus Area and then creeps inland and actually strengthens inland. Along the Middle and Upper Texas Coast fresh tropical breezes increase Monday and Tuesday as deep tropical moisture is pulled inland well East of a weak circulation center near the Rio Grande River Valley.

I just had about two drops of rain, and then it stopped. Whatever tried to form on me started falling apart the minute it started to rain.

This is so frustrating...it smells like rain, but there isn't any. That outflow undercut whatever was trying to form above me. It looked so promising only to tease me yet again.

I hope 91L doesn't end-up being a Lucy. I have this sinking feeling it might.

I think a couple of years ago I mentioned that you're in the donut hole where it rained all around you, but rarely on you. Welcome back to the donut hole. ;)

so the latest ECMWF shows the Beaumont area escapes any flooding rains. Looks like we would be on the outer fringes if this run was to verify.
