We don’t have a generator yet so I’m not stocking-up on anything except gas. If it comes here, we’re emptying the fridge and driving to Austin. That’s what we did during Ike and we watched KHOU on a special channel and watched the lines and lines of people waiting for gas and ice, etc., for hours in the miserable heat. No thanks.

But remember Jason, Ike did pull a cold front down after he left, so the days and nights were somewhat pleasant, albeit without power.jasons2k wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 9:00 am We don’t have a generator yet so I’m not stocking-up on anything except gas. Im gonna admit seeing the models especially the GFS show the potential for a Cat 5 is making me a bit uncomfortable , I know the trend has been Lousiana but man I would absolutely hate for them to be hit again, that would just be awful

Hmm. Without looking at the upper level charts that almost suggests a little less trough interaction with the ridge not eroding as much to the e. Hints at a possible change with the 12z run.

Again, nit-picking of me at this point because it's so early in the game -BUT - the 06Z ECMWF operational did shift west a tad as well with a landfall in Jefferson County or right along the border.

We have time…a lot to look at with this storm…right now the models are like a sniper trying to hit a target a mile away in a high wind that is constantly changing direction. JMO

Just because you're disabled, you don't have to be a victim
