February 2022
Latest GFS looks great for mid February!!
It's 66 here, should warm up a little more if the sun can break through. I'm about to go on a lunchtime run - the last run for several days.
Yeah I’ve been noticing the same thing. Btw I just got the winter weather advisory on my phone for Wharton County.
Really annoying how the Houston NWS office seems to usually be a day behind the private mets. Been like that for years. (I've also noticed that for some reason they seem to never issue a Hazardous Weather Outlook in their region, unlike all the other surrounding offices.)
I need to quit wasting time going to their website for anything other than current or short term info.
I haven't noticed similar issues for the DFW or Austin/SA offices, at least not to the same extent. DFW has been pretty close to the private mets on this storm (though to be fair, that was probably an easier call for that area on this particular storm.)

Give them time. Sometimes being prudent is the right thing to do. Those folks have forgotten more about meteorology than I will ever know.

So us in Brazoria County won't get a WWA?
I’m preparing as if it will.
The advisory window is pretty long from 2pm Thursday-9am Friday.Looks like they may be taking to a count the second disturbance the models show coming through overnight.
With the trend of the models showing a disturbance riding along the coast overnight Thursday/Friday morning,I would expect the coastal counties to be added eventually.

Winter storm warning has been issued for my area
Get the bridges prepped. It's nearly too late to prepare much at home.tireman4 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 12:32 pmdp6 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 12:25 pmReally annoying how the Houston NWS office seems to usually be a day behind the private mets.
